Steven Adler Rejoins Guns N’ Roses… at Least For One Night
Guns N’ Roses reunited with original drummer Steven Adler for the first time since 1990 at their concert in Cincinnati on Wednesday night (06.07.16).
The 51-year-old musician joined singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan at their gig at the Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati on Wednesday (06.07.16). Then, he made or joined a couple of unsuccessful bands and participated in realities such as Celebrity rehab. One of Guns N’ Roses’ founders, he was sacked from the group in 1990 due to his drug use. It’s expected that Adler, who is now in good health, could be making additional appearances on the current Guns N’ Roses tour.
Fan speculation around Adler’s participation was heavy and most of the band members were not sure if the drummer could hold it together during the tour because of his drug addiction.
Adler has since formed his own band, aptly named Adler, which recently canceled a show in Los Angeles so Adler could undergo back surgery. Adler, looking happy and healthy, grinned as he began Out Ta Get Me without comment.
It’s unclear if Adler will perform at future shows. The band is considering a United Kingdom tour in the near future. GNR will be performing in Nashville on July 9 (local time).
“We were all pretty positive that would never happen so it’s still sort of blowing our minds”, said Slash in a radio interview”.
