Steven Sabados thanks public, asks for privacy after death of Chris Hyndman
Chris Hyndman, CBC talk show host, was found dead in an alleyway in Toronto’s East End late Monday night.
Along with Sabados, Hyndman brought everyday style to Canadians in a number of series, including their HGTV shows “Designer Guys” and “Design Rivals” and the makeover program “So Chic with Steven and Chris” on Slice. He was discovered below the sixth-floor unit he shared with his onscreen partner and spouse, Steven Sabados.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died early this morning”, the statement read.
“As we find our way through this hard time, we are asking for privacy”, he concludes. He added that police would not comment further until completing interviews.
Meanwhile, Hyndman’s mother told the Toronto Star that she believes her only child fell to his death while sleepwalking.
Glenda Hyndman told the Toronto Star that her son was a sleepwalker, who would even eat in his sleep.
CBC television personality Steven Sabados has broken his silence after the death of Chris Hyndman, saying in an emotional tribute that the spirit of his longtime partner and co-host of CBC ‘s Steven and Chris will endure. “I think his light was so bright it just … it just burned out”.
Toronto Police spokesperson Meaghan Gray wouldn’t confirm the report, but did say the investigation is still open, with no foul play suspected.
According to National Post, he was found shortly after 11:00 p.m. near the intersection of Queen Street and Broadview Avenue with no vital signs.
“Steven and Chris” airs locally on the ABC-7 digital subchannel The Live Well Network.
