STILL MARRIED: Judge DENIES Brittney Griener’s Request For Annulment
In June Griner filed for an annulment from fellow player Glory Johnson, a month after their nuptials and just a day after Johnson announced she was pregnant.
Griner can still have her request for divorce approved, so this is just a small bump in the road to Splittsville. According to Griner, she “attempted to postpone the wedding several times” before her decision to annul, and that Johnson was secretly in contact with an ex. The Tulsa Shock forward, who is carrying twins, took to Instagram following the denying of the annulment. Brittney Griner is still legally bound to her pregnant wife, however, who is rejoicing that the decisions the couple made together will be upheld. Speaking directly on the decision, Johnson said that she was “thankful the annulment was rejected because an act of marriage did occur”.
In June, Brittney Griner also told ESPN the relationship was on rocky ground even before the couple walked down the aisle, “but sometimes you feel pressured into things”.
The tumultuous relationship of WNBA stars Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson took another unfortunate turn.
Truesdell’s report notes a Johnson confidante saying after the ruling that it’s Griner’s “responsibility to provide for the two of them”. She added, “I went along with it and I knew I shouldn’t have and it was a huge mistake”. “I don’t like to defend myself but I did and this was my morning devotion”. We guess the judge didn’t agree!
