Symes said using the same glasses that you would use to look at the eclipse yourself, put them over the lens of your iPhone, then take the picture.

If you don’t have your ISO approved solar glasses, you can buy them this Saturday at the Farmers Market in Helena from the Helena Astronomical Society.

For those not attending a watch party, the special eclipse glasses can be purchased online. Their coverage begins at 1PM EDT and runs for two hours, and you can check it out on their site or mobile apps.

The company also estimated that there “are about 9 million people on Facebook or Instagram who live in cities along the path of the total eclipse”.

Path of the total eclipse is 70 miles wide and crosses the country from OR to SC, taking just 1:33 hours to complete its overland path.

The Waynesboro Public Library will offer glasses on the day of the eclipse for those attending the library’s events, including a special program story time for children and a special program for adults starting at 1 p.m. Instead we will have a partial eclipse where the moon will cover all but 3 to 20 percent of the sun.

“The whole school will be together on the football field and all the teachers will make sure that everyone has their glasses on”, says 8th Grade Science teacher Heather Crumpler. The concentrated solar rays will damage the filter and enter your eye, causing serious injury.
