Stoke City rejects Norwich bid for Jonathan Walters
This will be his third season as a Norwich player and being back on the Premier League stage could see him make England’s Euro 2016 squad if he has a good year.
Think you know your football?
‘He is a player we have to be mindful of.
Walters scored 11 goals for Stoke last season but his place in Hughes’ team will come under increased threat following the club-record arrival of Xherdan Shaqiri, who is in the squad.
The Potters had won just once from the last 10 visits to Carrow Road, but went into the match having recovered from 2-0 down to draw at Tottenham last weekend.
He has made more than 200 appearances in all competitions for the Staffordshire outfit and scored 50 goals.
“I was just trying to use the market at that time”. Nathan Redmond was also denied by Butland as he dived to his right to push the effort around the post.
‘We went under the radar past year , that won’t happen again, ‘ said Hughes.
“We want to make sure that our home form is good, and hopefully we can start that on Saturday”. Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal, do a lot of business over in Asia – whether that be sponsorship deals, or to help sell their products on a worldwide scale, it increases their brand reputation and as a result, they become more well-known too.
Xherden Shaqiri and Ibrahim Afellay will bring Champions League quality to the Stoke attack. Stoke City is still looking for their first win of the season while Norwich City is looking to remain in the top half of the table.
“I have been brought up not to settle for what you have got, you have to keep going”.
‘We’re seeing that at the moment.
Stoke are the visitors to Carrow Road on Saturday and Press Association Sport understands Norwich have been rebuffed in an approach to sign Republic of Ireland worldwide Jonathan Walters from Mark Hughes’ side.
The visitors had already benefited from defensive indecision when Pape Souare diverted Adama Traore’s cross into his own net to cancel out Scott Dann’s header. If this could work out for the Potters, they could easily be a really big hit, by selling those players on for a big transfer fee and utilising that money effectively.
