Stone Temple Pilots Pay Tribute To Scott Weiland
The 47-year old Black was eventually arrested for alleged possession of controlled substance.
Weiland’s body was discovered after 8PM yesterday and, according to his Facebook page, died in his sleep.
It’s also unknown if the pending drug possession charges against Thomas Black could ultimately include charges directly related to the death of Scott Weiland, should it be determined that cocaine did contribute to his death.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office are continuing to investigate Weiland’s death, with updates on the way. The singer had been dogged by substance abuse problems throughout his career.

Singer Scott Weiland died at the age of 48 Thursday night and, nearly immediately, fellow musicians took to social media to express their condolences and share their sentiments, including those from his past bands.

Scott Weiland was on tour with his band the Wildabouts when he was found dead in Bloomington, Minn., on Thursday (Dec. 3).
Police say they found a small amount of a suspected controlled substance in the bedroom where Weiland was located.
Weiland’s wife, Jamie Weiland, also confirmed his death to the Los Angeles Times. The statement asked for privacy for members of his family. “I can’t think of the name of the song right now”, he said.
