Stormy Daniels seeks Trump testimony on her sex claims
David Schwartz, Cohen’s friend and attorney in another matter, said in a statement that the motion to depose Trump and Cohen was “a reckless use of the legal system” aimed “to inflate Avenatti’s deflated ego and keep himself relevant”. In other TV interviews, Avenatti said he was holding back certain details of the alleged affair, including the contents of a CD or DVD he tweeted a picture of last week, for strategic reasons.
The President said that he personally did not think Daniels appeared credible, this person, who has talked to the President about his interactions with the pornographic film star and did not want to be identified discussing it, added.
Cohen is the son of a surgeon who escaped a Nazi concentration camp with his family during World War II. “If you do something wrong, I’m going to come at you, grab you by the neck and I’m not going to let you go until I’m finished”.
Daniels originally sued Trump on March 6, saying he had never put his signature on a $130,000 agreement for her to stay silent in 2016, just before the presidential election, about what she called their “intimate” relationship. Avenatti says that would violate the Federal Election Campaign Act “for the goal of influencing any election for federal office”.
The persistent focus on Ms Daniels is a troubling distraction for a White House already struggling with an exodus of top staffers, a floundering agenda and the looming threat from the Russian Federation investigation.
The depth of Cohen’s potential legal jeopardy is not yet clear.
Ms Daniels is one of three women who have taken legal action that could damage Mr Trump.
Trump twice apologized for those comments before the election. Cohen denies the payment was related to the campaign.
Trump’s representatives denied allegations of an affair during the presidential campaign, and earlier this year Daniels signed a statement denying any relationship, which was released by Cohen. Miss Daniels claimed she had “swatted” Donald Trump with a copy of Fortune magazine that had his face on the cover and he had told her: “Wow, you are special”.
“I didn’t know what to do”, she said. “Forget the story, ‘” Daniels told 60 Minutes correspondent Anderson Cooper.
“That’s a lovely little girl”, he added, according to Daniels. “It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom, ‘ and then he was gone”.
Avenatti is also seeking to issue no more than 10 document requests to Trump and Cohen “on various topics relating to the Hush Agreement”.
The principal value of the porn star’s sit-down with CBS was in the format: This was the first chance for voters to see her describe an alleged affair with President Trump and to decide whether they believe the words coming out of her mouth.
