Street Fighter V will hand out “severe” punishment to rage-quitters
Although rage-quitting was not penalized initially, Capcom is now listening to feedback, and working to find a solution.
For those who might not be aware of who these rage quitters are, these are the people who are “sour losers”. To the annoyance of these fans, some gamers have been rage quitting out of Street Fighter 5 when they think they are about to lose the game. Better late than never, we say; it will be super-awesome if the game has limitations that would prevent rage-quitting, altogether. This means that no loss is counted for the person who quits and no win is counted for the person who’s on the verge of winning.
“Street Fighter V” online multiplayer now doesn’t penalize players who disconnect from a losing match early to prevent their stats from suffering, but Capcom has said that it will start laying down the law on these quitters in the coming week. “This punishment will be severe for the worst offenders, but we will need the community’s help with this”, Capcom said.
The team doesn’t have an exact date in which a system will be implemented, but for the time being, Capcom will be taking “direct action” starting next week.
They also stated that they will follow up with more details next week but for now, asks their loyal players to record every situation of rage-quitting that they experience.
Capcom has been a company which has been one of the biggest, most experienced names in the world of technology for quite a long time now.
Any video evidence will be enough, whether it be a Twitch archive or a local recording. Right now it seems to be working well for most users in both Ranked and Casual modes, though some players in Europe, the Middle East, and various other regions are reporting problems.
