Georgia joins Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriot and EastEnders’ Kellie Bright, who have all already been announced as taking part in this year’s show. The first is that as I will be turning 40 next year, I think it is the ideal time for a new, exciting challenge.

Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has been named as the fourth celebrity who will hit the dancefloor in Strictly Come Dancing. It is something I have always wanted to take part in and now I just can’t wait to get started!

The 24-year-old actress, who left the ITV soap earlier this year, will be waltzing her way onto the dance floor when the BBC show returns next month.

The Manchester born actress has been appearing on British television since 2004. Said Georgia.

She has also appeared in Life On Mars, Doctors, Casualty, Heartbeat, Emmerdale and This Is England 86.

She revealed to the breakfast show presenters that she hasn’t been able to get the advice of former Corrie stars who’ve taken part in Strictly, such as Jimmy Mistry, because it’s all been so hush hush.

But Georgia is best known for playing the role of Katy Armstrong in “Coronation Street“.

Georgia was asked to give the name of which dancer she’d like to be partnered with but refused to answer.

Bright’s involvement was announced live on The Chris Evans Show on BBC Radio 2, with further contestants to be revealed in coming days.

Strictly Come Dancing’s 13th series will begin on BBC One later this year.
