‘Strictly Come Dancing’: Jay McGuiness And Aliona Vilani The Glitterball
WHEN it came down to it, for all the claims of vote-rigging and extracurricular liaisons, it was the quickstep, the tango and the cha-cha that mattered in the Strictly Come Dancing final.
‘Still can not believe the Strictly final, ‘ tweeted Paisley Rose (@paisley_tedder).
The series climax drew 2.6 million more TV viewers than rival ITV talent contest X-Factor managed last Sunday, when an average 8.4 million tuned in. The first live show of the night maintained a 50.1% audience share, whilst the results show averaged an impressive 48.4% share.
Jay McGuiness is on a mission to put his life back together after he put it on hold to train for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. Now the second part of tonight’s final is on, presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have unsurprisingly had a quick wardrobe change.
He was not the best on the night, but the public vote secured his win.
“I really truly do not feel that at all”.
Commenting after their win, a “spaced out” McGuiness said: “It’s been one of the most special things I’ve done – and with the most special person”.
Sparkling Lincolnshire Strictly contestant Kevin Clifton finished top of the leader board at the end of the first programme of the glittering Strictly Come Dancing final with two ideal 40 scores.
“I’m glad I got to see it through to the end”, she told the co-hosts. “I’m happy with that being the time that I did the jive”.
At the beginning of the show Katie Derham and her partner Anton du Beke left the competition finishing in fourth place.
Turning to her partner, who was making his first ever appearance in a final after 12 years, she said: “You’ve brought out the best in me and I really am forever grateful”.
So viewers were shocked when Jay McGuinness scooped the glitterball trophy from the favourite.
McGuiness had made a flourishing entry into the competition which kicked off in September, winning over the judges with dramatic performances.
