Strictly: Daniel to waltz to ‘When Irish Eyes are Smiling’
“Oi, oi saveloy! The best dance of the two nights”, cried head judge Len Goodman. Get some fire in the loins. And Karen Hauer on Jeremy Vine: “When I saw Jeremy’s hip thrusts I was quite, um, shocked”.
Weather presenter Carol and her professional partner Pasha will dance a cha cha to Leo Sayer’s Thunder In My Heart. “It lacked a natural continuous flow”, added Craig, criticising her balance.
Despite praise for his bottom from Craig, it was all downhill.
Jiving to “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham!, the sportsman put on an energetic performance with plenty of kicks, swings, and cheeky glances.
Anton du Beke and Katie Derham were up next.
“Anton, you’re dancing, darling”. Craig said they had potential and they scored an impressive 28. He’s a massive star in the United Kingdom and Ireland and also in the USA and has so many fans.
Bruno: “It started like a dream – but if you do make a mistake just try to catch up”.
Craig: “Your posture’s not right, it was very lumpy. Fantastic!” enthused judge Craig.
The 41-year-old looked disappointed as he received only 17 points, but he vowed to do better next week.
“Jay McGuiness, you’re like a Guinness – you’re full-bodied with a lot of froth at the top”, he said. “She’s always telling me to straighten my neck and shoulders and that I have to remember that using my heel is a big no-no!” he said.
Disappointed: Bruno was particularly scathing as he told the star: ‘You were stumbling and handing over to Brendan… your feet were all over the place…
If TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher wants to win, she will have to find some confidence. The serial loser hasn’t stopped grinning since he was paired with her three weeks ago and he didn’t stop during their performance either. “The flow of steps were very stilted”. The 58-year-old showed dramatic flair during his tango with partner Natalie Lowe to Abba’s Voulez Vous.
I’d love to hear your comments and any questions you may have! But the acting was absolutely brilliant’.
Once again, Darcey appeared to be somewhat distracted.
Former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote scored 27/40 for her Jive with new pro Giovanni Pernice.
Darcey: “Very set, I’m incredibly impressed that was our first dance”.
It never, ever gets old – even after all this time we really still can’t get enough of the series.
It’s Round 2 of Week 1 as the other half of the celebrity dancers took to the stage tonight (September 26) after the first six performed last night.
Donegal singer Daniel O’Donnell and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Kristina Rihanoff will waltz to Bing Crosbie’s When Irish Eyes are Smiling on the BBC show Friday night.
