Striker Vardy extends contract with Leicester City until 2019
Along with Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez, the indefatigable Vardy has become a symbol of Leicester’s rise from the foot of the table to the summit over the past 12 months.
This was City’s first home game since the announcement that Pellegrini was leaving at the end of the season and being replaced by outgoing Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola.

Robert Huth added a second to his name and a third for Leicester in the 60th minute and the City fans were seen heading for the exit as Leicester celebrated. Mahrez started the second half by powering a shot past goalkeeper Joe Hart before Huth netted again on the hour.

Next up for the league leaders is a trip to north London where they will take on fellow joint favourites Arsenal. Surely back-to-back visits to those rivals, Manchester City and Arsenal would return sanity to the top of the table.
