Striking French ferry workers snarl Eurotunnel entrance
French ferry workers have caused mayhem for British tourists after they set FIRE to stacks of tyres and blocked access to Calais port and the Eurotunnel.

The president of the Scop said that Eurotunnel is refusing to honour 6.2m of debt owed to the workers, meaning that they will not be paid for work in July.
It has advised travelers on day trips to consider rearranging their schedule – adding that though protesters have left the motorway, the A16 from Calais is still closed due to the blockade.
Day return passengers of Eurotunnel have been warned to reschedule their journeys, after French union bosses warned the action would re-start this afternoon.
Onlookers gaze at the thick smole from the burning tyres.
Calais is becoming increasingly chaotic as authorities struggle to cope with illegal immigrants and striking workers.
The city is home to encampments of thousands of migrants hoping to stow away on lorries and cars heading across the Channel. Some of the migrants take advantage of traffic slowdowns to try and leap onto the vehicles.
Dairy, beef and pork farmers rolled out dozens of tractors to block roads leading to the Normandy towns of Caen and Evreux, as well as Mont Saint-Michel.
