Strong cold front sends temperatures plunging — FIRST ALERT FORECAST

It will be mostly sunny Monday on Long Island with a high temperature near 50 degrees and light winds, forecasters said. Then comes the cold, meteorologists say. This will cause any lingering rain showers to transition to snow showers.
