Students return to Parkland, Florida school after shooting massacre
With the culture so focused on keeping children safe, many teens seem incredulous that extreme forms of violence against kids can still happen – and yet so many adults are unwilling to address the issue.
They wrapped up a special therapy session with students in the school auditorium on Wednesday.
Poland and Boardman schools, citing safety concerns, plan to organize alternative events based on student input.
“Some of the 9th graders at the Central 9th Grade Center at Sand Springs Public Schools have planned to stage a walkout tomorrow, March 1st”. It would be so attractive to have one bill that everybody can support, as opposed to – you know – 15 bills.

But many said they were glad to be back. Although all teachers will continue their classes and instruction, administrators and support staff will supervise students during this time.
The students said they believe there is now a 50-50 split between students who will participate, and those who won’t. She said she was not afraid to return, “just nervous”.
Douglas sophomore Charlotte Dixon said some of her friends are having a hard time returning to classes.
Cruz ordered an Uber on Valentine’s Day at 2.06pm USA time and climbed into the back of the auto carrying a large case, according to theNew York Post.
As parents get used to their children going back to school, they hope a sense of normalcy will come with it. The change disrupted high schoolers extracurricular schedules to no end. The post states the school “does not wish to be pigeonholed into supporting any particular political statement” and “does not want to be viewed as espousing any particular singular solution to this issue of school safety”. If a principal or other administrative official is unavailable, can multiple users send out information to those who are at risk, and are emergency messages ready to send?
Nikolas Cruz, 19, who had been kicked out of the school for disciplinary reasons, is accused of carrying out the rampage.
Instead of arming teachers with weapons, a few educators expressed their need for actual school supplies like pens and dry-erase erasers.
“We all had that moment of realization of what truly matters and what’s important”, she said.
She says the shooting, which left 17 dead, has given her a new goal: Advocating for tighter school security and gun control.
Politicians and parents have been eager to regulate what young people can and can’t do. States now require regular fire drills and code compliance, local fire departments enforce regulations, and national organizations publish resources and standards to guide activity under a unified and informed approach.
High school students across the nation obviously don’t speak with one voice on what needs to be done to curb school violence.
“They’re sad”, Todd said.
‘Our view was if the kids can be fearless enough to organize like this, we can be courageous enough to take them out of here, ‘ Stack said.
In class, teachers embraced their students, told them they were grateful they were okay, and allowed students to talk about what had happened.
“Scheduling a pause in the school day only for those supporting the goals of the walkout would be legally problematic for the district”.
“We know how lucky we are”, said Brooke’s mom, Denise Harrison.
