Stunner: Trump leads Jeb by 6 points … in Florida!
Trump increased his lead in the polls as a outcome, much to the consternation of the Republican establishment.
As Trump’s continued strength – and decisive pull in any third-party bid has become clear – the focus has shifted to securing assurances that he won’t withdraw his considerable fortune from the GOP and run on the Donald Trump Party ticket.
During the 2012 presidential campaign, the Republican base was drawn to Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and businessman Herman Cain. Not too far behind with 2 percent are Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Trump’s side show candidacy will have faded away. “He’s the only candidate speaking the truth” … Republican voters then gave a substantial chunk of Midwestern and Southern states to Pennsylvania Sen.
The Trump surge is pushing his rivals to go to great lengths to get noticed.
“(Mitt) Romney prepared and it turned out to be a disaster. Trump inspires much stronger feelings in Republicans, but the most prevalent of those feelings is anxiety about the future of the party and the country. He will push and push until the Republican Party tells him to take a flying leap off of Trump Tower. It’s huge. The center-right (but pro-immigration reform) American Action Forum estimated earlier this year that “fully enforcing current law” – that is to say, deporting all 11 million people who are deportable – would cost somewhere between $400 billion and $600 billion.
But the Observer isn’t refusing to cover Trump at all. All other Republican presidential aspirants scored 8 percent or less. Beyond both being non-politicians (and Fiorina being a wealthy businessperson), each has certain advantages. This trio comprises the only Republican candidates in double-digits in each of the last four publicly released national polls.
As we have seen previously, the electorate is incredibly polarized, with Republicans and Democrats lining up almost unanimously with their parties’ candidates for House, Senate and president. She’s saying things about another woman that a man can’t say. Unfortunately, a look at most other Republican hopefuls leaves us thinking, “This is about as appetizing as a three day old salad”.
However, 16 Republicans running for president seriously dilutes the numbers each candidate can pull. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich are just a shade behind at 5%. The New York reality TV star and real-estate magnate is trailed by Wisconsin governor Scott Walker, at 13 percent support, and former Florida governor Jeb Bush, at 10 percent.
The bottom line is that there is no way that Trump can win. His answers to nearly every policy question are firmly within today’s Republican consensus.
Trump’s lasting damage could permanently brand the Republicans as hostile to Hispanics, the nation’s fastest-growing demographic group. Or is the real impact of the media-driven Trump phenomenon still largely unformed in the states that cast the first votes in the GOP nominating contests?
“Adding the Quinnipiac poll to the CNN Poll of Polls, we find that across the last five national telephone polls, Trump averages 19% support, followed by Bush at 13% and Walker at 12%”. “She got rid of her hard drive”, he said.
And what is to be said about the Republican Party?
The former first lady’s unfavorable decline emanates from public questioning of her honesty and trust-worthiness which is showing up in polling data.
Trump is exploiting their fears and in return, they feel empowered.
