Stunning drone footage shows moment whales swim next to a paddleboarder off
Jaimen HudsonA drone enthusiast has captured the lovely moment two curious whales approach a paddleboarder off the coast of Esperance, Australia.
Jaimen Hudson heard there were Southern Right whales off the beach at Esperance in Western Australia and grabbed his equipment before racing down there, reports the Daily Telegraph.
“There was one time when the whales lifted their heads up looked up over Pricey’s board, they were so inquisitive and wanted to know what he was”, the film-maker told the ABC.
The video, that went viral, captures the whales harmoniously swimming in the water undisturbed by the sole paddle boarder. It is no surprise, then, that Hudson wants to be a filmmaker in the future, and he considers his whale videos as the stepping stones to a career in filmmaking. The resident of Western Australia captured the footage in crisp 4K quality which he has shared on his YouTube channel.
The amateur camera man said that he used a DJI Phantom 3 drone to tape the footage. Due to a motorbike accident, Hudson is a quadriplegic who has lost functionality in a few of his limbs. Despite not being able to use his fingers, he is able to control the drone using his thumbs and partially use his shoulders.
