Suburban NY man faces murder charge in 17-month-old’s death
Authorities said Nassau County Child Protective Services has never investigated a case involving Pardo.
Pardo’s relatives were in court during his arraignment and had no comment on the charges he’s facing.
A suburban New York man is being held on $20 million bond after police say he fatally beat his girlfriend’s infant son. He was arrested Monday and is charged with one count of second-degree murder. “He’s truly a monster”. The investigation led to the arrest of defendant Lord Pardo, 26, of Uniondale. According to Nassau County police, the victim, Mason Robinson, of New Cassel, was pronounced dead at about 3 p.m. Sunday at the North Shore LIJ Syosset Hospital. His attorney, Meir Moza, vehemently denied his client killed the child. The criminal complaint alleges Robinson suffered injuries to his lungs and skull, as well as lacerations to his liver.
“This was no accident”, acting Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said. The mother asked Pardo to drive the child to her, near her workplace. “He fell in a position that could have caused serious injuries”.
“He was a happy baby”, Johnson told Rivera.
Pardo is due to be arraigned…
The injuries, he said, are “inconsistent with an accident”.
