Suburban Shooting Leaves 4 Dead
Police say Fields shot Manning and her sons to death before killing himself.
Also critically injured was Manning’s father, 75 year old Jerry Manning.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed via their Facebook page that the incident is a murder/suicide.
Rebecca Manning later died at the hospital. Killed brothers Jared Smith and Jacob Smith.
Family issue: Police believe everyone killed in the shooting lived at the home. Dante Renzulli with the station tweeted that officers had been to the house before to deal with a different man. Deputies told Renzulli that they thought it was going to be same man there last night.
The caller said he and his wife were headed to the home and were 30 minutes away.
In February, five members of a Douglas County family died in a shooting that investigators said was a murder-suicide.
The identifying information in the documents was redacted.
Authorities said the shooting is domestic-related and there was never any harm to the public.
The one survivor was in critical condition undergoing emergency surgery. They also said the surrounding community is not in danger.
The names of the victims and the shooter have been released in a mass homicide in Forsyth County. Although he refused to offer any further details about the previous visits, the Associated Press stated the alleged gunman was familiar to the police force from prior criminals acts and had been arrested as a minor for unknown crimes.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, a police investigation is now underway in a Forsyth County residence where four people were discovered shot dead.
Old Atlanta Road is closed in the area of Olde Atlanta Club.
Four people were killed and one wounded in the Wednesday morning shooting about 30 miles northeast of the city.
“We’d like to find a motive”, Piper said.
The house is a white, single-story, double-wide that contrasts with the nearby area, which includes some of metro Atlanta’s most exclusive neighborhoods and golf communities.
