Sunderland ODDS-ON to land Liverpool outcast, Man United starlet WON’T follow
Don’t worry – you haven’t fallen into a time warp and travelled back to 2013.
Fabio Borini could return to the Stadium of Light with Sunderland in talks for the out-of-favour Liverpool forward.
Borini enjoyed a fruitful spell at Sunderland during the 2013/14 campaign, where his goals went a long way in helping the Black Cats retain their Premier League status.
Sunderland also remain hopeful of sealing a loan deal for Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj, though the player has poured water on rumours linking him with Sunderland via his official twitter account. 15 forgotten Liverpool keepers, with Martin Hansen, Padelli, Arphexad, Luzi & more!
Januzaj struggled for first-team opportunities last term under Louis van Gaal and he would see his chances diminished further if Pedro arrived at Old Trafford.
Borini is now deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield, following the arrival of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Divock Origi.
Like teammates Jose Enrique and Mario Balotelli, he has been told that he can leave the club this summer (via The Guardian).
However, they were rumoured to face competition from two Premier League sides, with both Sunderland [Daily Star] and Everton [ESPN] having been linked to the forward earlier in the summer. Hopefully this time he’ll take the hint and join the club on a permanent basis next year.
