Sunderland transfer round-up: Black Cats linked with loan move for Manchester
The report claims that Galatasaray have reached an agreement for City over a loan-deal for Denayer.
Speculation emerged in Belgium earlier this week saying that the English outfit had enquired about the Manchester City defender’s availability, and the local publication understand that the Black Cats’ interest is in fact true.
Denayer enjoyed a successful loan spell at Celtic last term in which he was voted Scottish Young Player of the Year and now City want the Belgian to test himself at a higher level.
John O’Shea returned to the side at the weekend to provide an element of stability to the Sunderland back line but after completing the signings of Younes Kaboul, Adam Matthews and Sebastian Coates, Advocaat seems keen to bring in further reinforcements at the back.
Sunderland have made a very poor start to their campaign but as a solace, the Black Cats managed their first points of the season with a 1-1 draw against Swansea City at the Stadium on Light on Saturday.
His chances of featuring for his parent club were limited this year following the £32m arrival of Nicolas Otamendi, so Manuel Pellegrini is willing to sanction a loan to help aid his development.
Sunderland are not alone when it comes to being interested in the 20-year-old, however.
