Sunderland unveil new away kit ahead of Club de Fútbol Pachuca game
Sunderland suffered their second defeat of pre-season as they were beaten 3-1 by Mexican outfit Pachuca in a friendly in Sacramento on Friday.
“It is coming. Playing games is the best exercise you can get”.
Pickford saved Ruben Botla’s penalty after John O’Shea was harshly adjudged to have fouled Nahuelpan, and while Dick Advocaat will hardly be too concerned at his side’s back-to-back defeats in the United States, he will be demanding an improvement in performance when Sunderland head to Canada to take on Toronto FC next week. Changes from their match against Sacramento saw youngster Jordan Pickford replace Vito Mannone in goal, whilst Tom Beadling and Seb Larsson made way for Billy Jones and Connor Wickham. The young stopper showed why he is so highly rated though by pulling off some great saves to keep the scores at 2-1.
The same player then gave Pachuca the lead after 25 minutes and Hirving Lozano added a third midway through the second-half.
The kit will go on sale online and in club stores located at the Stadium of Light, The Galleries in Washington or Debenhams in The Bridges, Sunderland from 9.00am on Thursday 13 August – two days before the Black Cats first home game of the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League campaign, against Norwich City.
“I am focused on making sure we have the right shape and that we know what to do in certain moments against Leicester [City, on the opening day of the season], physical wise”.
