Sunny skies, chance of flurries Tuesday
After a chilly and sunny Sunday it’s going to be a wet start of the work week, the National Weather Service predicts.
Sunny skies returns Thursday with a high of 1C before the temperature climbs to a high of 4C on Friday. In Hartford and Tolland County, there is only a 40 percent chance of a few rain after 10 a.m. Tuesday but it’s expected to pick up late Tuesday and up to a half inch is expected before ending early Wednesday. Highs only in the low 50s getting into the mid 50s if we see a little bit of midday clearing. The cool weather continues to pour in over the weekend with lower 60s both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with occasional rain with the steadiest showers probably occurring in the afternoon. The main body of low pressure will swing well to our north, but a trailing cold front will pivot in on Veterans Day, Wednesday. “Rain totals are generally beneficial, running 0.50-1.00” for many towns.
Sunny skies will be back Tuesday with a high of about 63.
The strong low pressure will bring heavy rain a chance for thunder and extremely strong winds Thursday. High near 55. South southeast wind 6 to 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.
