Sunny skies, chance of showers and thunderstorms expected into the midweek
The normal (or average) high on August 1 is 85 degrees, but by the 31 it dips to 80 degrees. Skies will remain “partly sunny” for a solid chunk of the day, before more showers and storms develop throughout the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Monday has a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms mainly after 4 p.m. with mostly sunny skies and a high near 92. Some spots will start to see some raindrops, as early as 1pm. With that being said – today’s rain chances will be fairly disorganized. Model data is more bullish this morning on this scenario but I’m hesitant to increase the pops too much from our previous forecast due to the expected scattered nature of any precipitation. Our high will climb close to 90 with a few stray storms possible.
We are tracking a pacific storm system that will bring a few weak showers and storms to the region this week.
These ordinary thundershowers will have the ability to dump heavy rains over relatively small areas, and they will lose their energy as the sun sets. But, we’ll fine-tune the extended forecast in the coming hours and days.
After Wednesday, drier skies prevail into the upcoming holiday weekend.
Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s.
Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
