Suns Have No Interest In Trading Markieff Morris
It could be in the form of a player/s plus maybe a draft pick/s. Whatever that may be, the Suns are likely to agree to release Markieff only if such is the case.
Morris sought a trade after the team dealt away his twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons earlier this year. If he fails to show up for camp and/or games, the Suns won’t have to pay him for his chosen time off. He genuinely has to put his money where his mouth is if he wants no part of Phoenix from here on out. “I don’t give a [freak]”.
Raptors have relevant reasons to go all out for the 25-year-old potential superstar. “That’s just what it is”. Morris has made statements about the Phoenix Suns fans and reports are he and his brother clashed with Suns coach Jeff Hornacek. The twins felt disrespected by the Suns organization for not being informed about the trade before it happened, which is regular operation in today’s National Basketball Association. Apparently, he has his own ways to ensure he will get traded. Morris reportedly hasn’t spoken to the Suns since. He also tweeted that Markieff has not picked up a phone call from any Suns player or front-office member. He has warts as his possible departure from Phoenix is highlighting. Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, Alex Len, Devin Booker, TJ Warren, among others, showed up.
There is no surprise that Markieff Morris is missing from that list, given his “Keef beef” with the franchise.
From the Suns’ perspective, it seemed like a no-brainer on the surface: deal your disgruntled twin, a player who was a problem for the team back when he was “compliant”, and wash your hands of the whole thing. Now the question on which is the more favorable destination for Morris is at play?
As of now all indications are that the Suns plan on keeping Morris around. Heck, even Tyson Chandler can’t give you what Morris can in terms of post-scoring. Because, to hear the Suns tell it, he ain’t going anywhere any time soon. Things are certainly lining up exactly like the front office in Phoenix had hoped.
Would Phoenix lose Morris for nothing? Besides the contract being in their favor Morris is also one of the best players on the Suns and they are counting on him again this season. Because Markieff’s trade value is at an all-time low. For example, he ruined the Suns chances in selling high on him. With his off the field issues, the Cavs would be buying low on Morris.
Should the Cavs trade for Markieff Morris? They’re new to playing.
The two teams were said to be now working their way around the cap and tax threshold and could possibly include a third team in the transaction.
Phoenix Suns rumors address how Tyson Chandler has to be a leader this season.
They have a great backcourt, a defensive-minded center and veteran leader, a solid bench, and lots of young talent. You are our future power forward.’ I’m the future power forward. If he were to be dealt, Mirza Teletovic would be Phoenix’s starting 4.
Morris is just 25 years old and while the Raptors have Patrick Patterson, he has not been as consistent as Morris, while the Rockets could look at making a move with Terrence Jones.
Dealing Markieff Morris for what would be change in return would create a huge bump for Phoenix’s playoff chances this season.
