Super Eagles have no business losing to DR Congo -Pinnick
Obinna Ogba, the Senator representing Ebonyi Central, on Friday attributed Super Eagles’ 0-2 loss to DR Congo in an worldwide friendly on the exit of goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
The NFF took to their twitter account to confirm this report and alos said that it was just a misunderstanding and it has been resolved.
Efe Ambrose and Odion Ighalo were among the goals, as Nigeria earned a 3-0 win over Cameroon in an global friendly. Oliseh is not certain to get the best out of all the players following his manner of handling the matter. The first thing he said was that he invited four goalkeepers to camp because he never expected me to come to the camp.
I recall, Enyeama had an issue with the NFF’s disciplinary committee a few weeks ago when he refused to yield their invitation to the committee for making comments about the team’s safety in Kaduna during the first leg of the 2017 cup of nations qualifier against Chad.
“I want to say thank you to every Nigerian fan and supporter world wide”.
“It’s been the most trying period of my life but I know that Nigerians are there for me”, Enyeama said while commenting on the effect of his altercation with coach Oliseh. “Enyeama remains in camp”, the tweet read. I was in Nigeria and I stood up for Vincent because I felt that he shouldn’t be castigated for representing his team mates. “He is my captain”. He is the captain of the team, not someboby who is thinking of retirement.
At the meeting, Pinnick, in company with the NFF 1st Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi, and 2nd Vice President, Shehu Dikko, told Enyeama in clear terms that the country is bigger than any individual and that even if he was determined to quit worldwide football, he did not have to do so in a situation of acrimony. At the end, he announced that he had taken a decision to keep Musa, who had been acting in Enyeama’s absence, as team captain.
