Super Mario Maker Checkpoints Update Now Available to Download

Well I’ll be. Mario Maker has fully embraced skinny Mario’s creepy aura, judging from the easter eggs hidden in the game’s first update. To add a checkpoint to your course, simply shake the arrow sign item to transform it into a flag, then place it.

Make through the toughest levels with the help of Checkpoint Flags, along with other interesting updates to be released today.

In addition to the new level creation features such as checkpoints, the update has added the Event Courses in Course Maker. There are six of these levels to start, and by clearing a few of them, you can unlock the Totem Link (Tri Force Heroes) and Arino (GameCenter CX) outfits. These courses will be from partner creators outside of Nintendo. In Event Courses, players can take on the “Super Mari- Kun 25th Anniversary” course, and completing it rewards you with the costume seen in the above image. Exclusive for Nintendo Wii U, the game can create levels for video games like Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. You know, if you’re into that sort of thing.
