Super Smash Bros. coming to Nintendo Switch this year

We don’t know much about the game, but we do know that the Inklings from Splatoon are playable fighters and that it’s coming sometime in 2018.
Undertale was officially announced today courtesy of Nintendo’s Direct.
To speculate a bit more, we wonder what other new characters could be joining the inklings on the roster. It’s all quite dramatic.
The release date of 2018 suggests a new game is possible, if you consider the gap between Wii and Wii U entries was four years apart – the same length of time since the Wii U and Switch editions (four years). The new titles still coming exclusively to the 3DS reaffirms Nintendo’s commitment to what some presumed would be left by the wayside in the Switch’s wake.
None of those characters are exactly a surprise, as they’ve all appeared in two or more Super Smash Bros. installments.
A few months later, the Switch will be getting one of its most anticipated games.
Considering that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U isn’t that old and is still very popular, an upgraded port would make sense.

As for Nintendo Switch and 3DS sales, there are several games available for less than $10, like Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment and Blaster Master Zero.
The Smash Bros. series began in 1999 when it was first launched on the Nintendo 64 followed by a GameCube version called Super Smash Bros. Nintendo’s Yoshiaki Koizumi announced that Super Smash Bros. will be releasing this year.
Nintendo didn’t provide a lot of details. Think about it: Breath of the Wild Link not only looks but plays quite different from his Twilight Princess incarnation. “We’re working hard to ensure the Nintendo Switch version of GameMaker Studio 2 retains the already excellent functionality of the engine”.
If Super Smash Bros Switch is simply a fancy port of the previous iteration, we’d love to have all the downloadable content bundled in for no extra cost.
