Supergirl Recap 10/26/15: Season 1 Episode 1 Premiere “Pilot”
But she and her cousin, Clark Kent (aka Superman), aren’t the only “aliens” who have invaded Earth.
“It makes it real”, Mehcad Brooks said.
Superheroes are becoming as populous on TV as they are in movie theaters, probably even more so. And in Supergirl, essentially playing the Meryl Streep part from The Devil Wears Prada, Flockhart injects the show with a few very welcome energy and fun. And she does that well. Forced to come out when her sister’s plane is in danger of crashing, she plays that wonder of being the hero for the first time, believably. We’re having Lucy Lane, but we’re also going to be having her father, General Sam Lane, who will be coming to town with an agenda. She does just that, but before she can take him prisoner, Lumberjack kills himself. Jeremy Jordan’s advice? Well, it’s a bit different. Then there’s Lucy Lane, a former love interest of James Olsen’s, and she and Kara do have adventures together.
“I’m always excited when people are enthusiastic about the shows and for more people to be talking about the shows”.

Like Perry White, she is demanding, and what she demands is exclusives on this mysterious flying girl. Pretty good first episode very optimistic for this series. Was Christopher Reeve really any less dashing as Clark Kent than as Superman? In that, this episode was successful. “The unbridled joy on her face when she steps into her own power is a thing of beauty, and I hope it inspires many girls and women to step into theirs”.
Speaking of The Big Bang Theory, Supergirl had the night’s best possible lead-in from the comedy. After all, geeks never really grow out of their “phase”.
“Supergirl” premieres Monday at 8:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
As introduced in the “Supergirl” premiere, there was an alien prison from Krypton that crash-landed on Earth and those prisoners have escaped, so those will be a few of the villains that Kara will be facing. Kara’s powers are going to be put to the test, but the same goes for her humanity. But she also has a Debbie downer of an adoptive sister named Alex who keeps telling her to pretend to be human and stay under the radar, which is a little tough for Kara.
With Supergirl, Greg Berlanti and his Arrow and The Flash producing team are attempting to mount a modern, youth-appeal superhero series not for the CW but for older-skewing network CBS. It’s not a man. It’s Supergirl.
Kara Zor-El, played by Melissa Benoist, is the newest DC Comics heroine to grace the screens in the CBS action drama “Supergirl”.
