Supergirl Season One Trailer Debuts During Scorpion
Supergirl certainly is not shying away from the character’s comic book roots, but it remains to be seen if the CBS audience will form the same kind of fandoms that Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Constantine, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have so far.
Some of the Supergirl’s villains are also shown, including our first look at Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, described as “a green tech billionaire who enjoys a friendly rivalry with Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) and a fascination with National City’s newest arrival – Supergirl“.
With the premiere of Supergirl, CBS has released a brand new trailer, complete with never-before-seen footage of some of Kara Zor-El’s superpowers – and the supervillains she uses them against. This article may contain spoilers for the upcoming season of CBS’ “Supergirl”.
What do you think of this new Supergirl trailer?
Along with more scenes of star Melissa Benoist (Glee) in action as Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, the latest preview also features a few members of the rogues gallery she faces after deciding to finally reveal herself to the world and become the hero she knows she can be. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to hide the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.
Years later, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant, who just hired the Daily Planet’s former photographer, James Olsen, as her new art director. Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Sarah Schecter and Andrew Kreisberg are executive producers, while the pilot episode was directed by Glen Winter (Arrow, The Flash).
Supergirl flies to CBS Monday, October 26, at a special time of 8:30/7:30c, and will then air Mondays at 8/7c.
