SUPERHOT coming to PCs in February, Xbox One in March
When shooter SUPERHOT was first revealed as the product of a very successful game jam, it was an FPS like no other.
The highly stylised graphics in SUPERHOT help to focus the player on the videogames’ main mechanic, that being time moves only when the player moves.
“No regenerating health bars”.
In this time-bending shooter, time only moves when you do. Superhot will be out sometime next month on Xbox One too, as a console exclusive.
SUPERHOT has the player dodge bullets, pluck weapons from fallen foes, and fight their way through hordes of unrelenting enemies, all within a delightfully stylized environment. No conveniently placed ammo drops. The game took two and a half years to develop, but fans were there to fast-track it every step of the way.
A campaign was then launched on Kickstarter to deliver just that, which was a great success and had raised more than $250,000 from over 12,000 backers.
On SUPERHOT’s Kickstarter update page the developer wrote: “Big plans ahead for virtual reality”.
The announcement trailer is available to watch below, and once the bullet-dodging, Matrix-like game play has you hooked, it is available for preorder on SUPERHOT’s website here.
It changed and evolved over time.
