Superior Tree Lighting Postponed
The St. Ignace Business Association Holiday Open House and Christmas Tree Lighting will be held Friday, December 4. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures with Santa and costumed holiday characters.
The free event, along East Seventh Avenue between 15th and 17th streets, includes marching bands, performers, Santa Claus and snow.
The City of Monroe is holding its Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Saturday at 6 p.m.at the Monroe Civic Center Plaza. Hot dogs, kettle corn, ice cream, ice pop, hot chocolate, food trucks, craft beer trucks, wine and holiday cocktails will be available.

Allegheny Avenue will be closed to drivers from 4 to 8:30 p.m. between Washington Avenue and the traffic circle. Bryan and Teri Ellison, who along with Chair-Family Kevin, Julie, Kathleen, Jonathan & KJ Botterbush, will kick off the red kettle Tree of Lights campaign. The parade is at 11 a.m. and the festival from noon to 4 p.m.
