Surging in Polls, Bernie Sanders Becomes Real 2016 Threat to Clinton
I think everybody wants a fight and I think they are not really giving the same scrutiny to Bernie Sanders that theyre giving to, certainly, Hillary Clinton and the other candidates.. But even if his economic message gives you stomach knots, at least you can be sure he won’t come for your guns in the unlikely event he earns the keys to the White House.
Sanders is on track to be massively outspent by every other candidate looking to get their party’s nomination, but that does not mean that his current achievements are not impressive.
With appearances on networks including CNN and Fox News as well as a series of university lectures on police violence, Killer Mike is earning his reputation as a respected voice on political issues affecting black people in America.
I asked Sanders about criticism that he has not spoken out about attacks on women’s health and receding access to abortion and birth control. Briggs said the focus right now is finding people who are well-versed in the Iowa caucus and those who have experience organizing in New Hampshire, where the first presidential primary is held. “It is not”, he said. But if Clinton wins the nomination: “I would vote for her”, he says.
“I’m blessed with endurance, I’m blessed with health”, Sanders said.
Our own Bloomberg Politics poll showed that while Clinton retained strong leads in both New Hampshire and Iowa, Sanders’ support was increasing and assessments of Clinton softened a bit. A CNN poll released last week pegged Sanders support at 35 percent in New Hampshire, just 8 points behind presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. People in urban areas must understand that rural America’s gun owners are “not criminals” and shouldn’t be “stereotyped in unfortunate ways” for using guns for hunting and target practice, and participating in antique gun shows, he said.
Clinton loyalists note that she has taken liberal positions on issues including immigration reform, voting rights and same-sex marriage, and is expected to follow suit with proposals affecting college affordability and student debt, raising the minimum wage and expanding paid leave.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is a dyed-in-the-wool progressive, but how does she feel about the idea of having a full-fledged democratic socialist run the country?
Now it was time for Bernie Sanders to make his stand clear. Sanders is preparing to alter his staffing and strategy in an attempt to court a specific set of demographic groups.
While Clinton volunteers hit the streets and Sanders’s camp rallied followers for a campaign that focused on “educat(ing) and organiz(ing)”, Chafee, in an interview at the picnic, was taking the long view. However, he continues to have trouble gaining traction with African-American voters.
“I am beginning to see American political families like monarchs and I have no affection for monarchs”, he said.
“Part of his appeal, especially with younger people, is he’s clearly the outsider”, he said.
