Surprise, Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 Is Out On Steam Right Now
Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is the first game in the series not to be set at the restaurant of the same name.
Polygon wrote that “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4” is the fourth installment in the indie horror game series created by Scott Cawthon.
Without fanfare or much to-do, the game appeared on Steam for $8 Dollars. But Cawthon admits that he’s “bad with release dates”, and as the game is finished now, he’s released it. He previously said that the game would receive extra content on Halloween so that should still be happening unless he moves that forward too. And then remember when we said that it would actually be out on August 8th? Gamers will take on the role of a child and must survive until dawn. It didn’t seem likely that we’d be playing Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 on mobile before the end of July, but I’d say now it’ll be an upset if we aren’t.
Back in March, the third chapter in the Freddy saga made a similar stealthy appearance on the Steam store. This time, the terror follows the young protagonist right at home. The players’ only weapon is a flashlight that can be used to scare the animatronic bears away, as well as security doors and hallway lights but these can be used sparingly as they drain power. Surely this will finally end the game for real, right guys? The fandom itself will help to keep the spirit of the games alive, if this creepy fan film is any indication, and furthermore, there’s even a full-fledged feature length film in the works from Warner Bros.
Fans are still wondering whether the latest installment will be connected with the storyline of the previous versions. More details about the movie is expected to be released in the coming months.
