Susan Sarandon, Cast Of “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, Reunite For Film’s 40th
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the film.
“Strangely enough, the original Roadhouse production of “Rocky” took place in the space that is now PACA, so it made sense to welcome the show back to this theater”.
For the first time in 25 years, the stars of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, including Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry, and, Meat Loaf, reunited, something they immediately regretted after hearing someone make a “time warp” joke for the 329,492nd time.
The movie was panned by critics but quickly adopted as a cult classic by the rest of us, with the stage show version becoming a massive hit.
Originally planning to play Frank-N-Furter as German, Curry changed his mind after a chance encounter.
Even though her impressive career also spans Thelma and Louise and an Oscar win for Dead Man Walking – Susan said she still gets fans approaching her about Rocky Horror.
“I got pneumonia”, the 69-year-old, who played newlywed Janet in the film, said. “The home itself had been used for different classic horror films, still they hadn’t put the roof back on”. That was leaking and open.
“And it was December, January”. Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) get a flat tire during a storm. Written by Sharman and Richard O’Brien based on the musical “The Rocky Horror Show” by Richard O’Brien.
Although the movie set was cold, the audience response to the flick was far from it. Or neither? Do you remember who played Brad in the movie?
Now and then… Tim Curry immortalized the role of Dr Frank N Furter.
