Suspected serial killer Neal Falls killed by prostitute
A man killed during an attack on an escort may have been a serial killer, according to investigators.
When a woman in Charleston, West Virginia, opened her front door to greet a stranger she had arranged to meet through an escort ad, she knew instantly she was in mortal danger. She says Falls, armed with this gun, asked her “live or die”…
Falls then grabbed the woman by the throat and dragged her around her home.
Police said they found what they described as a “kill kit” in the trunk of Falls’ vehicle, including handcuffs, knives, axes, a sledgehammer, a bulletproof vest, another gun, shovels and bleach and other cleaning supplies.
She did talk to Charleston tv station WCHS-TV, saying she realised her attacker intended to kill her after he told her he was going to prison for a long time. “And that’s when I knew he was gonna kill me”.
His victim got a rake to fight him off and, when he dropped his weapon, she shot him.
“It’s likely that Mr. Falls is a serial killer”, said Steve Cooper, Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives. “I believe she [Heather] saved lives by shooting Mr. Falls, based on what he did to her and based on the items found in his auto”.
Lt Cooper said investigators were now looking into the possibility that Falls is linked to four unsolved murders of prostitutes in Las Vegas 10 years ago.
They are also investigating a small town in Ohio, Chillicothe, where at least six women have disappeared – and four later turned up dead – in the past few months. Authorities said the women were had drug problems and some became prostitutes to feed their habit. Why would a man visit an escort for an appointment with no money on him? Partial remains were found in the desert on a road leading to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas. Police found Falls dead inside the home, but the case took on another dimension when they searched his auto and found the horrifying evidence of his intentions.
Police are investigating his possible connection to murders in Ohio, Illinois and Nevada. The mother-of-two’s body was found wrapped in a sheet in a drainage pipe on 20 June.
Law enforcement officials have not been able to establish a link to Neal Falls yet, but Officer Hollis confirmed with The Chillicothe Gazette that detectives were sent to Charleston, about 115 miles southeast of Chillicothe to find any clues that might help. The newspaper reported he worked as a security guard in Oregon and had minor traffic offences on his driving record from several states.
