Suspended Aldon Smith Posts Video of Him Possibly Smoking Weed
While the video never shows his face, the site suggests that Smith’s face was shown in the same setting, although not smoking pot. The man later responds, “It’s not like I put “Aldon Smith” before the video cuts out. He is now serving a yearlong suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
A video, which was posted and archived on Smith’s Periscope account, shows a man and woman talking about a hand-rolled cigarette.
If the National Football League does happen to prove that Smith is the blunt smoking culprit heard on video, things won’t be looking too bright for the prominent linebacker’s upcoming season.
Smith spent one month in a treatment center for substance abuse in 2013 and was suspended for nine games during the 2014 season after he pleaded no contest to possessing an illegal assault weapon; he also pleaded no contest in a 2013 DUI arrest.
The video on the Periscope account “ravenga” was posted “15 days ago”, as of July 14, according to the website.
Smith, who joined the Raiders for the 2015 season, previously played for the San Francisco 49ers and had numerous troubles on and off the field.
The Raiders re-signed the former 49er in April on a two-year deal.
Male: I don’t give a [expletive]. We’ve got zero followers. “This is what you call a fire up session”.
The Raiders will be hoping that Smith is telling the truth, but with the previous videos it is expected that it is Smith in the alleged video smoking a blunt behind the camera.
Female: [Expletive], you shouldn’t even be posting that.
Male: (coughing) (Expletive deleted), do you see my face? They don’t have my name.
Female: So, if you just put it on there…it’s just doing it?
Male: Shut up. You hella stupid.
“You ain’t using it no more, right?”
Female: Oh, that’s a [expletive] (inaudible)?
You’re tripping. [T] hey don’t know it’s me.
