Swansea City captain Ashley Williams confirms he will STAY at Swans
Swansea still haven’t obtained any official entreaties for my boy in the summer months some time this year and Williams says the theory does not have any influence as the hero himself gears up to show the Swans in the fifth time within the Premier League.
Monk signed a new three-year deal with the Swans in July after the club broke their Premier League points record tally, ending last season with 56.
The defender has been heavily linked with Crystal Palace and Everton in recent weeks but he has now confirmed he will not be leaving the Swans. “I have worked hard during the offseason”, said the former Southampton man.
“I’m used to dealing with the speculation and bids”.
“It’s no drama for me”, Williams told BBC Wales Sport at Wednesday’s Premier League launch in London.
Monk knows the tough test that lies ahead of his side at Stamford Bridge, but insisted his squad were looking forward to the match.
Despite the positives, Chelsea dished out Swansea’s heaviest defeat of last season when they thrashed the Welsh side 5-0 at the Liberty Stadium. I am hoping I can chip in with a few goals and get my games. It’s no big thing for me, it’s normal, it’s part of the job.
Mourinho, who had spells with Inter Milan and Real Madrid before returning to Chelsea in June 2013, says Swansea are firmly established as a top-flight club.
“It’s something useful I’m really passionate about with the use of Wales and Swansea”.
