Swansea’s Monk is latest manager under pressure
Swansea want David Moyes to replace current manager Garry Monk, according to reports in the Mirror.
Swansea City boss Garry Monk has sung the praises of Leicester City rival Claudio Ranieri.
Yesterday’s 3-0 home defeat to surprise league leaders Leicester City was their fourth loss in five games and the Welsh club have dropped from fourth after beating Manchester United early in the season to 15th, two points above the relegation places.
However Jenkins has acted first and Moyes could be in charge for Swansea’s next game at Manchester City on Saturday. It is extremely frustrating and that is putting it nicely.
Not that Leicester cared as they soared to the top of the Premier League, and they didn’t even need the help of Jamie Vardy to do so as winger Riyad Mahrez scored a superb hat-trick. Simple as that. I pick the team, I train the team and try to do it to my best.
“I know the situation and I can handle it. We can talk about players or this or that, but ultimately it is with me”.
DAVID Moyes is the new favourite to be Swansea City’s next boss. I thought the first was handball and the second was offside, but there is no point. “Results are not acceptable and I accept that more than anyone else”.
“Of course I am anxious”, Monk said. That was never in question. “I am trying to find the ways to make it better and this is bitterly frustrating”. You work very hard with them in the week, you see a really good attitude towards everything.
“You don’t become a bad manager just because you’re going through a bad period”, he said.
“That is very clear, but you have to trust yourself as any experienced coach will tell you”.
With the pressure mounting on him and pundits starting to turn against him, despite initial support, Monk is determined to “turn things around” in South Wales and “believe[s]” he is “the man” to do so.
