Swansea send £14m transfer warning to Sunderland and Liverpool
The 26-year-old has been one of the few success stories of a miserable season for the Welsh club, leading their scoring charts with seven goals.
And there has been talk that Sunderland could submit an improved offer.
Swansea are adamant top striker Andre Ayew is NOT for sale, despite continued interest from Premier League rivals Sunderland.
The Chronicle report that Sunderland had an initial £10m bid for Ayew rejected last week, but Allardyce’s men are now plotting a second, improved offer to try and lure him to the Stadium of Light.
French newspaper L’Equipe has indicated Ayew Liverpool could launch a raid, but Curtis, who was in charge for the final time in Monday night’s victory over Watford, has said selling Ayew is not an option.
However, he continued, saying that Swansea “wouldn’t even entertain that” given the importance of the forward to the team.
“He is one of a number of big players for us and we don’t want to lose anybody during the window”.
Instead, it’s all about incomings, with the manager saying that they “want to bring people in”.
“But the strength and qualities within that changing room are very important to helping us move in the right direction”. “I think it’s the best league and I wanted to come and play against the best players”, he said.
Jan Kirchhoff’s hard debut at White Hart Lane on Saturday may have persuaded Allardyce that proven Premier League players are a safer bet to help with the relegation battle, and Ayew has thrived in his first season of English football.
