Swedish prosecutors say no deal yet on Assange interrogation
Julian Assange will be questioned by Swedish authorities over rape and assault allegations against two women in the “next few days”, it was revealed today.
Ecuador has asked Sweden to submit a new application over the questioning of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange in London, Swedish prosecutors said today. The questions relate to accusations of sexual assault made by two women.
Last week, Sweden announced that it had filed a request to question Assange at the Ecuador Embassy in London.

The 44-year-old Australian refuses to travel to Sweden to answer the allegation, saying he fears he would then face extradition to the United States and trial over the leaking of hundreds of thousands of classified U.S. military and diplomatic documents in 2010.
Scotland Yard said at the time that it had removed the permanent guard of officers who have been stationed outside ready to arrest Mr Assange since 2012 – at a total cost of £12.6million.
Swedish prosecutors dropped a sexual assault investigation against Assange in mid-August as the five-year statute of limitations expired.
The Associated Press attempted to reach Swedish officials for comment on whether they accept the conditions Correa described but it was late in the day. The foreign minister reiterated to teleSUR Ecuador’s respect for the Swedish legal system.
