Swift joins Bees on loan
I am a coach.
“I have watched Brentford and I think this suits me”.
‘It was that I wanted to coach U18s and U21 teams. It’s just so happened that the last two clubs I’ve been at I’ve ended up as a caretaker manager.
And despite being given the chance to audition for the job on a full time basis, Carsley says he did not enjoy his time on the touchline. I’ve been in the situation before at Coventry. I hope I will travel to Derby and I am looking forward to it.
‘It has been a hectic week.
Last year’s play-off semi-finalists have made a dismal start to the new season and lie 19th in the table.
He becomes Carsley’s first signing since he was placed in charge until the end of the season earlier this week.
He added: ‘No, I would not have thought so. “The development team is in good hands with him”. He’s ready for it and he knows the club more than anyone.
Former Everton and Birmingham midfielder Carsley insists his goal is to be a youth coach and he admits it would be unlikely he could go back to the role at Brentford next summer.
“We knew Brentford would have lot of possession but we are quite happy with teams doing that and we kept our shape and asserted control in second half”. There’s a lack of confidence and that’s the hardest thing in football. It is not always about tactics and systems, it is about having a bit of belief.
“I asked them for a reaction tonight and to get back to what they were good at”, he said.
