Swift took to Twitter on Sunday to announce the upcoming release of her 1989 World Tour – Live concert special.
Come that day, you’ll just have to head over to the little microsite Apple has set up for Taylor Swift, which should pull up the Apple Music section of your iTunes. Apple Music offered a three month free trial, which meant artists weren’t getting paid for the trial period as users streamed her songs over and over again, prompting an angry Swift to pen an open letter to Apple. Releasing worldwide on December 20, the documentary features the entirety of Swift’s recent Sydney show, in addition to never-before-seen footage from rehearsals and backstage. Presumably, this particular concert was chosen for the doc because it took place before more than 70,000 fans in a country that heretofore was thought only to exist in Hugh Jackman’s mind.
