Swift’s rep slams West over song
Swift’s boyfriend Calvin Harris wants her to handle it privately.
An intense feud looms between Kanye West and Taylor Swift following rappers misogynistic lyrics about the “Fearless” singer in his song dubbed “Famous” off his newly released “The Life of Pablo” album.
A representative for Taylor told E!
In a series of posts on Twitter, he denied reports that she had warned him over “misogynistic” language, writing that she “gave her blessings” to the controversial lyric. “He believes she needs to tell him straight that he was wrong for what he did”, the magazine reported.
In yet another lengthy rant, he posted: “I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt… I made that bitch famous”, a possible reference to his high-profile interruption of Swift on stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
The comment was branded as misogynist and prompted an outcry on social media, also upsetting Swift’s friends and family.
The Aussie star made her feelings very clear as she withdrew her support for Kanye by revealing he’d “crossed the line”. “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning”, he wrote on Instagram. After wrapping the song “Ultralight Beam”, West announced that the album was available on his website and on Tidal, the streaming service.
In the lyrics for his new track ‘Famous, ‘ West raps “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why?”
He shared with his 18.6 million followers: ” First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship.
“It’s Chance’s fault the album not out yet… he really wanted Waves on that Bitch… we in the lab now…”, West tweeted early Saturday morning. Everybody has their own opinion.
