Swine flu kills 11 in Rajasthan

Atleast 21 was confirmed of having the disease among which four have died and nine have been discharged from the hospital after recovery. They said people in all age groups are affected but young children, the elderly and adults with chronic conditions are highly venerable to flu during the season.

The Azerbaijani Health Ministry refused rumors about the spread of swine flu in the country, saying that no infection cases have been reported so far.

Swine flu is the popular name for influenza (flu) caused by a relatively new strain of influenza virus A. It was responsible for the flu pandemic in 2009-2010.

Over 500 people have been taken to hospital with flu symptoms in the city branded Russia’s “northern capital”, and 123 turned out to have swine flu.

Swine flu, according to experts, is a respiratory disease caused by the H1N1 strain – a subtype of the influenza A virus that also circulated among pigs.

The virus now circulates worldwide as one of three seasonal flu viruses.

The influenza virus is different each year.

Symptoms include a high fever, tiredness, headaches and muscle pain or joint pain.
