Texas felt good about its NCAA Tournament hopes after knocking off the Cyclones, but a win over the Red Raiders would have gone a long way toward making Sunday just a little bit more comfortable.
It was easier for Duke than it was for North Carolina, who went down 14-0 to start their quarterfinals game with Miami. By losing the last two regular-season games, North Carolina slipped out of double-bye position in the ACC standings to the sixth seed.
