Syria Claims, Three Syrian Soldiers Were Killed by US-Led Coalition Bombing
If confirmed, the attack would be the first against President Bashar al-Assad’s forces since the US-led air campaign started in Syria more than a year ago.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said air strikes in the village of Khan in the northeastern province of Hassakeh killed 26 people, including seven children and four women. “So we see no evidence”, Warren told AFP. “These strikes were about 55 kilometers (34 miles) away from the location where the strike against Syrian army was reported”.
USA officials cited coalition surveillance and other data they said showed that Russian aircraft launched airstrikes near the Syrian army camp.
Hours later, an unnamed United States military official – who reportedly spoke on condition on anonymity because he was not authorised to discuss the matter publicly – has said that the country is “certain” that Russian Federation conducted the airstrike, AP reported.
Britain joined the United States and its allies last week in the bombing campaign against Islamic State in Syria, ahead of proposed worldwide peace talks later this month.
At the same time, the Syrian opposition charged that a separate air raid carried out by Syrian government forces struck civilians in the Sukkari neighbourhood of the northern city of Aleppo.
US officials say the deployment is part of an agreement between Turkey and Iraq and does not involve the USA or the coalition. The photo bears the watermark of Islamic State media releases and is consistent with other AP reporting.
“Reports of coalition involvement are false”, he concluded. Antigovernment activists in the area have said that USA strikes are typically carried out with the most precision. The strike also destroyed three armoured vehicles, four military vehicles, two heavy machine guns and a depot of arms and ammunition, the ministry added. But he said but he did not know whether the Russians may have been responsible for the attack that allegedly struck the Syrian army position.
In a letter to the United Nations Security Council and Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Syria’s foreign ministry condemned what it called “flagrant aggression” by the US.
The statement says the attack is an impediment to the counter-terror efforts in the region, as the Syrian outpost was fighting terror groups in eastern Syria.
The Syrian army and Islamic State have been battling for control of Dair Alzour.
Deir Ezzor province links ISIS’ de facto capital in Raqqa with territory controlled by the group in Iraq, and its oilfields are a major source of revenue for the group.
