System Shock 3 Is Official, Might Come in VR

As one of the finest games to have ever graced the PC, System Shock 2 is easily one of the best games of all time. Last week hackers cracked OtherSide’s teaser website (www.othersidetease.com), revealing information that hinted at a possible sequel and now the developers have come clean with plans for a long-awaited sequel.

System Shock 3 was teased a week ago, when Otherside Entertainment put up a teaser countdown for the game. As part of the fun, series’ AI antagonist SHODAN appeared to mock the hackers with new taunts each day.

And to think, at one point we believed the idea of a System Shock 2 sequel to be folly.

Respondents stand a chance to win a limited edition Shodan print by series concept artist Robb Waters whose work includes art for BioShock, Freedom Force, and Thief.

The path to bring the System Shock franchise forward was long and winding.

Nevertheless, we can’t wait to see what Otherside Entertainment does with System Shock 3.

In a recent interview with Fastcompany, Night Dive pointed out that they are working with the System Shock’s original concept artist, to reimagine the original 1990’s designs.
