Table service — McDonald’s latest innovation
McDonald’s will offer table service in a trial at some of its UK restaurants.
“We have listened to customer feedback and to meet their evolving expectations we are significantly investing in our restaurants to create an exciting new environment and improve the customer experience”, UK Managing Director Paul Pomroy told the newspaper.
The new system would see customers order their food via a digital kiosk, then simply wait for a member of staff to bring it to your table.

If it proves successful, the trial will be rolled out nationally.
But there’s no word yet on whether the service will be coming stateside.
McDonald’s has struggled to increase profits recently in the face of growing consumer choice. McDonald’s Corp. “This is where McDonald’s is headed”, CEO Steve Easterbrook said in March at its Frankfurt Airport location, where diners can order and get food at a counter or order from a kiosk and have it brought out to them.
“In December 2014, as part of the wider “Create Your Taste” initiative, customers could choose when ordering whether they wanted to receive their order directly to a table from their server”, a McDonald’s spokesperson from the EU office said.
So far the company has revamped its Hamburglar mascot and is reportedly set to begin offering all-day breakfasts in the U.S. this autumn.
There’s even word on the street that McDonald’s is considering including kale in menu items next year. It’s also testing the service in the United Kingdom This Aussie McDonald’s meal has an upscale feel.
