TAG Heuer Connected is the First Swiss Android Wear Watch
He, too, has been wearing the watch for several weeks and emphasized that as he showed it to people, it was clear it “doesn’t look like an electronics product”, it looks like a watch. Partnering with both Intel and Google, the TAG Heuer Connected is an Android Wear smartwatch that hopes to bring the Swiss giant into the 21st Century.
Based on Google’s Android Wear platform, Biver said the Tag smartwatch took just 12 months to develop, compared to three years for a traditional watch. The case and buckle are designed and manufactured in Switzerland by the same team that makes the rest of TAG’s watches, though the Connected Watch is not technically “Made in Switzerland” since the electronic guts come from Intel. The watch comes with a black strap by default.

It has a small microphone so you can communicate with it, but no speaker; its sapphire crystal touch screen works in conjunction with the crown at 3 o’clock to deliver on your commands.
Classic operations such as a timer, alarm and stopwatch are also standard, naturally. The company says that even when your phone isn’t nearby, the Connected will remain online as long as it’s tied to a wi-fi connection. One of the most prominent Swiss watch makers, it was the first indication of a traditional manufacturer creating a connected device.
David Singleton agreed: “From Google Search to smartwatches, Google strives to give you the right information, at exactly the right time and place”.
“It’s a milestone for the swiss watch industry”, CEO Jean-Claude Biver proudly announced. Other smartwatches, such as the Apple Watch, also offer this feature. The Swiss watch industry is now connected to the future. The mechanical TAG Heuer, made from the same grade five titanium, has been developed and reserved for owners of Connected watches. So today if there is something to be said, today is the marriage of Watch Valley and Silicon Valley. Better finishing, design. You buy an iPhone and in three years you put it in the trash.
Perhaps you’ll get something special for your money. A connected device is absolutely rational.
The collaboration has produced a large – 46mm – watch that at a glance looks like a regular Tag Heuer Carrera, but is operated via either its touch screen, wrist movement or voice activation.
The price point is undoubtedly aggressive, though.
